About the role:

We have an exciting full time opportunity for you to become our Health & Wellbeing Coach.

We are looking for candidates with experience of working with children/young people and that you are happy working 2-3 evenings per week as part of the role. You will need your own transport and drive as you will travel around Gloucestershire delivery our weight management programme.

As a Health & Wellbeing Coach you will provide tailored diet, nutrition, and behaviour change advice to service users / participants. This vacancy will be supporting children, young people, and families to manage their weight and make sustainable changes to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Through providing personalised support to individuals, you will empower them take control of their own health and wellbeing with a focus on lifestyle behaviour change


Key Responsibilities:

To provide a health coaching service for eligible participants that supports people to gain and use the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become active participants in their health and wellbeing so that they can reach their self-identified health and wellbeing goals.

Depending on the needs or the participant/s, they will experience either virtual or face-to-face health coaching group delivery sessions in the community, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the recruitment of individuals to the interventions
  • Support our triage and assessment process
  • Agenda setting with clients
  • Lifestyle behaviour change support to move more, achieve a healthy weight/diet
  • Problem solving with adaptability to individual context
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Goal setting
  • Signposting to other services if required


What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Relevant health coaching qualification or an accredited health coaching skills programme
  • Experience in delivering behaviour change interventions for specific lifestyle related issues (e.g., smoking cessation, physical activity, NHS Health Checks, weight management, alcohol reduction)
  • Evidence of supporting vulnerable individuals through a change process
  • Experience of caseload management demonstrated via the use of a Case Management System
  • Experience of inputting and processing data where accuracy, targets and time deadlines are operating in the workplace.
  • Experience of working in a health, community or social care environment or good understanding of the issues around maintaining a healthy lifestyle Desirable:
  • Experience of supporting people remotely / telephonically / digitally
  • Experience in delivering group-based behaviour change interventions to children, young people and families. Evidence of supporting vulnerable individuals through a change process
  • Experience of inputting and processing data where accuracy, targets and time deadlines are operating in the workplace
  • Evidence of continuous professional development to ensure the delivery of the most recent and up to date health coaching provision to the correct quality standard
  • Experience of working in a health, community or social care environment or good understanding of the issues around maintaining a healthy lifestyle
