Description & Requirements

JD - Band 4 
1.Having experience in AWS / Azure Cloud.
2.Having experience in Oracle / MSSQL databases.
3.Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
4.Increase Security and enhance Compliance in AWS / Azure - optional
5.Migrate on-premises databases to AWS/Azure using Database Migration Service and DMA.
6.Proactively maintain the overall health of all databases
7.Troubleshoot performance and stability issues.
8.Proficiency in Unix shell / Python scripting.- REQUIRED (beginner)
9.Proficiency in SQL / PL/SQL. (beginner)
10.Ability to apply software maintenance upgrades (including security patches) and fixes.
11.Monitoring backups of the database on a regular basis and work with backup team.
12.Monitoring space management at database and server level.
13.Identify Business Critical alerts from all production databases and escalate to next level. 
14.Monitoring oracle physical standby and replicas and rebuild / re-sync if necessary.
15.Ability to perform Code Deployments.
16.Check for the database long running queries and provide recommendations. (beginner)
17.Having good experience in administrating PostgreSQL or MySQL – Optional

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Actively acquire skills alongside senior coworkers for cloud database provisioning, configuration, administration, cloning, patching, and upgrade activities.
- Help with space and growth management issues for databases in cloud infrastructure and work with senior resources to address them.
- Respond and resolve database related requests and incidents.
- Adhere to organization's security policies while performing database administration tasks, responding to database and cloud security alerts, and supporting audit requests.
- Watch and learn from senior DBAs as they develop and test disaster recover strategies, acquiring knowledge for independent execution.
- Learn the ropes of database backups, how to resolve backup issues, and perform recovery activities.
- Keep an eye on monitoring, and take timely action on alerts  for cloud databases.
- Participate in the on-call support (per the roster developed by management), perform minor database change requests, and be involved in the DevOps lifecycle management.


Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 0-3 years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
