Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a Help Desk Technician to provide vital day-to-day customer support and service delivery to the enterprise client technology devices that support transformative environmental and health research. This position supports a team of user support staff who fulfill tier 1-2 user requests, troubleshooting, new equipment, desktop/client configurations, and moves/adds/changes.

What You Will Do: 

  • Respond to and diagnose problems through discussion with users, which includes troubleshooting, fault rectification and problem escalation.
  • Provide effective and timely resolution of users’ problems, queries, or complaints.
  • Develop clear, concise documentation of user requests, resolution, challenges, etc.
  • Assist in hardware and software evaluation and recommend upgrades or improvements to IT infrastructure.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse stakeholder community, technical staff, business users, and government officials.
Required: 
  • 1+ years of work experience and/or University degree (BA/BS) in a closely related field. (Information Technology/ Cybersecurity/ Management Information Systems)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Due to federal requirements, applicants must provide proof of United States citizenship. 
  • Must be located in the Pittsburgh, PA area and able to commute to the on-site location. 

Desired:
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management Platforms such as ServiceNow with focus on receiving, completing, and documenting IT incidents and service request
  • Prior IT experience with the National Institutes of Health or IC’s is a plus
  • Vendor certifications in Windows (including Azure Fundamentals) and Mac are a plus
  • Experience administering a federated domain environment like Active Directory is a plus
  • Experience with system automation and management tools (SCCM/MECM, Jamf, PowerShell, Ansible, CLI)
