Role Summary


The Head of Operational Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing operational training programs that enhance both clinical and non-clinical operational efficiency and effectiveness. This pivotal role ensures that our diverse workforce is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service and operational excellence. By aligning training & knowledge management initiatives with the business objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, the Head of Operational Training supports the growth and development of employees while adhering to contractual obligations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Growth:

  • Develop compelling operational training propositions to support our bid strategies that highlight the organisation's strengths and capabilities which improve our win chances.
  • Innovate and leverage digital-first learning & knowledge management solutions to evolve operational training delivery integrated with My Learning employee development platform.
  • Develop multiple pathways Design and implement training solutions that address the operational needs of the business delivering training solutions that prioritise diversity, equity, and inclusion and foster an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive.

Measurement & Reporting:

·       Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs by leveraging data to measure the impact and improve training content and delivery. Prepare and present regular reports on training program effectiveness, employee progress, and ROI/ROE.

Strategic Planning:

·       Collaborate with Director of Talent, Senior Operations management to align operational training with organisational goals and strategic initiatives.

Continuous Improvement:

·       Evaluate the effectiveness of operational training programmes through feedback, metrics, and performance outcomes, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

·       Ensure operational training programs comply with relevant regulations, contract obligations and accreditation standards.

Team Management:

·       Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operational training professionals to ensure high-quality delivery of training programs and foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.


Qualifications & Experience
Essential
  • Expertise in digital learning solutions, platforms & learning technologies 
  • Proven experience in leading operational training delivery. 
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead training and knowledge management teams across multiple sites or functions. 
  • Training Strategy Development: Experience designing and implementing training frameworks aligned with operational goals. 
  • Instructional Design: Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies. 
  • Knowledge Management: Ability to develop and maintain knowledge bases, SOPs, and learning resources. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in working with cross-functional teams to identify training needs and deliver effective solutions.
Desirable
  • Degree in Education, training or human resource development or equivalent in a related field 
  • Project management skills and or relevant experience 
  • Track record of implementing knowledge management systems or platforms. 
  • Change Enablement: Ability to support change initiatives through training and knowledge transfer. 
  • Toolkit Development: Experience in creating and maintaining operational toolkits, playbooks, or knowledge bases.
