Lead delivery of a portfolio of Agile technology solutions services to Maximus UK Business Units, including requirements definition, prioritisation, development, testing and deployment.


• Maintaining a Technology solutions development backlog

• Iteration planning

• Just in time story elaboration and defining acceptance criteria

• Lead adoption of Agile and continuous improvement

• Drive robust estimating

• Facilitate Agile project meetings including multi-disciplinary Technology colleagues and users

• Facilitate the team’s progress and eliminate impediments

• Delivery of portfolio to agreed timescales, scope and budget and assuring complies with all standards / policies and delivers value to the business

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Daily stand-up and board administration. Leading daily stand-up and ensuring good practice is followed. Supporting follow-up meetings to progress and resolve blocking issues. Configure and administer the Agile boards, ensuring they continue to support the workflow effectively. Coaching the team in good practice to maintain quality information in work item descriptions and supporting documentation and data. 
2. Iteration planning, backlog and roadmap planning and management. Ensuring an appropriate scoring method is followed, protecting the team from over-commitment and scope creep but otherwise optimising use of their availability. Ensuing all stakeholders can commit to the iteration backlog, and the product team are equipped and supported in managing the product backlog and roadmap.
3. Sprint reviews and retrospectives. Ensure end of iteration reviews take place, facilitate meetings, recording feedback and follow-up actions to implementation. Support the team to identify areas that work well, those needing improvement, and those that can continue etc.
4. Consultation. Work with internal and external stakeholders, particularly Product Owners, to understand expectations on the team, identifying optimal ways of working and resolving blockers to progress. Meet individually with team members to address any issues around process and work styles.
5. Reporting. Regular analysis of performance data to understand build cadence. Ensure action taken on issues identified by reports and adapt iteration planning accordingly. Reporting activity across multiple delivery teams to senior managers.
6. Coaching. Act as an agile coach, encouraging best practice and embedding agile values, principles and practice.
7. Supporting other teams. Self-development. Identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
• Educated to degree level, or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in Technology delivery areas 
• Proven experience in cross-functional delivery teams performing a role such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Manager, Product Manager or Development Manager
• Scrum Master / Agile accreditation from reputable supplier eg Prince, Safe, Scrum Alliance etc
• Experience and knowledge of how to apply Lean-Agile methods and principles into practice
• Ability to manage workload across multiple technology projects with conflicting priorities against team capacity
• Experience in engaging and managing stakeholders and business partners at a variety of organisational levels
• Experienced in agile delivery of technology solutions: e.g. apps, automations, integrations, low code and data and analytics solutions
• Demonstrable technical knowledge of software design and engineering and configuration to enable successful management of technical teams
• Proven track record delivering change with software platforms and creating value for stakeholders
• Experience in leading meetings / workshops (e.g. eliciting and documenting technical requirements)
• Experience administering, planning and delivering projects using Microsoft DevOps or Atlassian Jira
• Ability to lead teams on process improvement to raise quality
• Business partnering, working as a valued partner with internal and external stakeholders across a diverse stakeholder base, particularly Product Owners, delivering a value-added service to customers
• Proven track record of successful stakeholder management, with a proven ability of influencing and persuading across the organisation

Desirable
• Experience of operating across multiple countries and cultures is desirable, but not essential

Travel Requirements
Occasional (monthly) travel to offices around the UK
