Description & Requirements

Maximus is hiring Sr Manager-Comm role to support the Aidvantage Program under the Department of Education portfolio. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative strategies and approaches to increase consumer awareness, understanding and engagement in government programs (e.g. Health Insurance, Child Support, Employment, Education).
- Lead the planning and implementation of integrated communications strategies/tactics across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media.
- Work hand-in-hand with MAXIMUS Project Teams and key stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver communication products and services.
- Support business development initiatives and high level meetings with existing and potential future clients.
- Manage Business Development activities for target accounts/markets (e.g., capture planning, proposal writing, pricing, partnerships).
- Develop briefs and/or presentations in support of new business opportunities.
- Maintain current understanding of trends and directions affecting the target health and/or human service markets.
- Project Management.
- Ensure sound management of client delivery: scope, approaches, timelines, budgets, resources and quality.
- Manage profit and loss (P&L) for assigned accounts, markets or territories.
- Manage resources including direct staff, consultants, vendors and/or subcontractors.

Program Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
 - Develops, implements and evaluates the Maximus Aidvantage communications plan in collaboration with business partners and leadership.
 - Leads the generation of content including but not limited to external communication including customer facing content, website and social media platforms.
 - Identifies challenges and emerging issues faced by the members. Works with the leadership team to recognize internal and external communication opportunities, and defines and executes appropriate strategies to support them.
 - Coordinates website maintenance, ensures that new and consistent information is posted regularly and timely.
 - Manages development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic materials.
 - Responsible for editing all Maximus Aidvantage written material, focusing on quality and content.
 - Experience developing and implementing communications strategies.
 - Ability to create and work within a yearly, quarterly and project budget.
 - The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the appropriate audiences through the best communication channels.
 - Self-starter, able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new ideas and initiatives.
 - Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
 - Ability to prioritize and follow through effectively.
 - Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal, in a professional manner that supports the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of Maximus Aidvantage and external stakeholders.
 - Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision.
 - Ability to work in team settings to show flexibility and versatility.
 - Ability to learn additional software applications.
 - Ability to self-motivate and thrive in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in related field required.

- Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, 3 years of people management experience required.

Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
- FSA Department of Education experience preferred
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.

Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
