Maximus is seeking a highly motivated Cybersecurity Policy Analyst to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). The Cybersecurity Policy Analyst will provide critical support in cybersecurity (CS) engineering, compliance, and verification initiatives. This role involves working on key DoD cybersecurity programs, supporting engineering review governance, compliance verification, and the development of innovative solutions for cybersecurity monitoring and reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in systems engineering, technical data analysis, and 
cybersecurity policy, and possesses excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cybersecurity Engineering Support:
    • Provide support to DoD Cybersecurity Engineering Review Group Governance as required.
    • Support Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNet) hardening efforts , including collecting relevant statistics and providing input to scorecard efforts.
    • Prepare responses to high-level queries on cybersecurity engineering principles from the White House, Congressional Staffs, Defense Science Board, DoD Inspector General, and other stakeholders.
    • Manage tasks and activities related to Cybersecurity Mission Support and Defense Industrial Base Technical Architecture Working Group.
    • Provide day-to-day technical engineering support for critical mission infrastructure protection. 
    • Conduct technical engineering data mining and analysis to support requests for information and data.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance and Verification Program Support:
    • Support the design and implementation of a DoD cybersecurity compliance and verification program.
    • Research and recommend innovative approaches for measuring and improving DoD cybersecurity compliance.
    • Support the identification of compliance approaches employed by various DoD agencies and field activities to drive market compliance and stakeholder engagement.
    • Assist in the development of compliance reports/scorecards, data collection plans, and compliance marketing and awareness campaigns.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Engineering).
  • 2 years of related experience in systems engineering, cybersecurity, or a similar field.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and cybersecurity policy development.
  • Experience supporting the development of strategies, standards, policies, and procedures for large organizations.
  • Proven ability to perform technical data analysis, prepare high-level briefings, and develop technical reports.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with senior government stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting DoD CIO or other high-level DoD offices.
  • Familiarity with NIPRNet hardening, cross-domain solutions, and cybersecurity compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define and interpret high-level engineering requirements.
  • Knowledge of Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) standards and automated compliance tools.
  • Experience in data visualization platforms and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Ability to support governance board secretariat functions and manage high-visibility stakeholder interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend system design improvements and innovative solutions.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
