Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to join our dedicated software development team in support of U.S. Transportation Command (TRANSCOM). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and analysis of software applications and working closely with senior developers. This role requires a foundational understanding of software engineering principles, along with the ability to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly.

Position Overview:

You will collaborate closely with a UI/UX Front-End Developer and a Back-End Developer. Our technology stack includes a Java-based backend and a JavaScript front-end utilizing frameworks such as React or Angular. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing intuitive interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular) while collaborating with backend developers working in Java.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, and analyzing; designing products; and programming computer software that requires extensive research. The Software Developer utilizes advance knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development and security methodologies.

Position Responsibilities

Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications, ensuring seamless integration between frontend and backend components.
Front end Development: Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React or Angular.
Back end Development: Develop and optimize server-side logic using Java, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team members to translate project requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.
Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing of applications, identify and resolve issues, and ensure software reliability and performance.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to propose and implement improvements in application development and user experience.


Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related disciplines, or technical training (an additional four years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a developer, with a strong emphasis on writing clean, maintainable code that adheres to high coding standards and best practices.
• A Secret clearance is required. 


Minimum Requirements
TCS194, T2, Band 5

Strongly Preferred

• Strong proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with Java-based backend services.
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles and responsive design techniques.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Background in security best practices for web applications.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
