Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a Psychometrist to support psychological and neuropsychological assessment services for active-duty members assigned to Special Operations Forces (SOF). The Psychometrist administers and scores standardized assessments to evaluate cognitive, psychological, and emotional functioning. Working under the supervision of credentialed and privileged psychologists, operational psychologists, or neuropsychologists, this position supports diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, duty-readiness determinations, and the broader POTFF mission to enhance performance, resilience, and cognitive readiness.

Candidates residing in or near the following locations are strongly preferred: Camp Lejeune, NC; Coronado, CA; Fort Bragg, NC; or Hurlburt Field, FL

U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of employees through cultivation of a high performance team.
- Ensure adequate staff coverage for assigned program area.
- Serve as subject matter expert for identified area of program knowledge.
- Ensure assigned team is meeting contract and individual SLA's, and related requirements.
- Work with contract management and shared services to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
- May attend client and stakeholder meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Perform assigned assessment procedures under the direct supervision of a credentialed and privileged psychologist, operational psychologist, or neuropsychologist. 
Use therapeutic assessment and interview skills to obtain an accurate and concise account of the client’s condition. 
Screen clients to determine presenting concerns and appointment priority. 
Perform basic assessment procedures, including initial screening evaluations and standardized neuropsychological, intelligence, and personality testing. 
Conduct assessment and selection activities in large group settings and on an individual basis. 
Apply appropriate research methodology and statistical design to respond to commanders’ requests for information. 
Assist credentialed providers with identifying mental health diagnoses and treatment strategies, and provide client education as appropriate. 
Understand suitability requirements for units across the SOCOM enterprise. 
Assist in the specialized treatment and rehabilitation of clients with brain injuries and mental health needs. 
Observe, monitor, report, and document client interactions during assessment sessions. 
Implement precautionary measures to prevent client injury due to suicide, homicide, or elopement risk. 
Coordinate specialized care, treatment, and administrative functions with other military agencies and military treatment facilities. 
Contact military or community agencies to obtain collateral information. 
Explain and interpret neuropsychological and psychological services, procedures, and access-to-care requirements for clients and commands. 
Assist with or arrange client referrals to other facilities for alternate levels of care. 
As a subject matter expert for this labor category, support the enhancement and preservation of the cognitive, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of Service Members, including documentation of services offered in HP enterprise-wide platforms, such as HPDMS, as directed by applicable USSOCOM guidance. 
Perform other duties as assigned by local leadership. Additional duties assigned through local leadership must be documented and approved through local POTFF leadership. 
Minimum Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of two years of related experience.
- Current LCSW or LMSW with license valid in the state of practice is required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, or a related behavioral science field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience within the preceding three (3) years performing psychological and/or neuropsychological testing and test scoring.
- Certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP) or ability to obtain certification within one (1) year of hire.
- The BCP requirement may be waived if the contractor completed one (1) year of full-time experience under the supervision of an operational psychologist.
- Ability to work under the supervision of mental health providers or personnel designated by POTFF leadership.

Preferred Requirements
- Experience supporting military, Special Operations, behavioral health, human performance, or readiness programs. 
- Experience administering and scoring psychological, neuropsychological, intelligence, personality, or cognitive assessments. 
- Familiarity with assessment and selection processes, treatment team coordination, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary care environments. 
- Strong attention to detail, discretion, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information. 

Credentialing and Additional Requirements 

- This position does not require a face-to-face interview. 
- This position is not a credentialed provider position. 
- Psychometrists are not credentialed providers and must work under the supervision of mental health providers or personnel designated by POTFF leadership. 
- Documentation of services offered must be completed in required enterprise-wide platforms, such as HPDMS, as directed by applicable USSOCOM guidance. 
- Adjustments to productivity expectations may vary based on client population, local mission set, or additional administrative taskings.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
