Description & Requirements

Maximus is seeking a Process Optimization and Tool Development Specialist to support Department of Defense (DoD) IT Portfolio Management (PfM) activities. This role requires a candidate with experience in process improvement, tool development, and stakeholder engagement to enable informed decision-making across the DoD. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the efficiency, effectiveness, and usability of processes and tools critical to success.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing PfM processes and tools, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare strategies, briefings, and implementation plans to convey process optimization recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain tools to support data collection and workflows for IT portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define, refine, and prioritize requirements for tool development and process enhancements.
  • Integrate PfM processes and tools with other DoD systems to enhance efficiency and data quality.
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders, ensuring effective use of tools and understanding of process changes.
  • Maintain comprehensive user guides and documentation for deployed tools.

Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in data management, analysis, and integration.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and implement data governance and rationalization strategies.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
  • Experience supporting DoD CIO or other high-level DoD offices.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity compliance frameworks, scorecards, and reporting solutions.
  • Proficiency in developing policy frameworks, compliance reports, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to innovate in a complex environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work assignments in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
