Maximus is searching for a Staff Action Officer to support a DoD program in Arlington, VA.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a Staff Action Officer to support Administrative and Information
  • Technology requirements of the Governance Directorate.
  • Proactively develop, manage, and organize a variety of correspondence and communication documents for internal leadership and external stakeholders, (i.e., Executive Summaries, Meeting Minutes, Action Memos, Information
  • Papers and Briefing Decks) as appropriate.
  • Proactively develop, organize, and track milestones to support Governance and Council meeting requirements.
  • Works closely with and serves as an interlocutor to external stakeholders on departmental requirements and interagency engagements.
  • Ensure the Executive and community stakeholders are provided read-ahead material(s), and other relevant documents to assist with meeting departmental engagements and rigid timelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • A bachelor’s degree is required for this position. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An associate degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. 
  • 5+ years’ experience working in direct support to DoD senior leaders, i.e.,
  • Senior Executive Service (SES) General and/or Flag Officer (GO/FO) level

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience using Microsoft Office applications, specifically MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook Calendar
  • Strong understanding of Information Technology capabilities and the ability to discern complex topics and distill into lay concepts
  • Ability to operate Audio & Video Technology equipment to support briefing forums
  • 5+ years' experience using the DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) and/or Joint Staff Action Process (JSAP)
  • 5+ years' experience in support of special access program (SAP) Information Technology Concepts and Applications
  • Strong writing and communication skills to support Governance and Council forums.
  • Possess problem-solving skills in a DoD environment
  • Possess interpersonal skills and experience supporting decision-makers at the
  • DoD senior leadership, Service or Joint Staff level(s)

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
